In Cameroon, the Northwest and Southwest regions have been facing significant challenges due to prolonged socio-political crises, leading to a devastating impact on children’s education. For more than 6 years, these children have been unable to attend school, with the crises resulting in the loss of thousands of lives and the displacement of hundreds of thousands of people. The dire situation in the region demands urgent attention and action.
Community Initiative for Young Leaders (CIYL) recognizes the severity of the situation and has taken on a mission to address this pressing issue. Our primary objective is to work in close collaboration with both community members and government stakeholders, forging strategic and innovative partnerships. Through these collaborations, we aim to ensure the provision of high-quality vocational training and education opportunities for the affected children. Our ultimate goal is to empower them to become self-employed, granting them the means to overcome the challenges posed by the ongoing crisis.
At CIYL, our mission is deeply rooted in love and compassion for these vulnerable children and young people from disadvantaged backgrounds.
